Actually, it was a pretty craptacular day all around. First, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! announced a winner for Health Kwest that, while he didn't technically break any rules, certainly violated the spirit of the competition (I came in 4th overall, for those of you wondering), then revoked the 2nd place prize from the person they announced won it. Then, a terrible experience at the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , (We had a thoroughly miserable visit to the Georgia Aquarium today. From start to finish, it was terrible. We had to wait in the rain for tickets, the ticket kiosks were ALL out of order. Once inside, it was just absolutely wall-to-wall people (extremely rude, inconsiderate people, at that), We saw one young mother physically assaulted by another guest at the exhibit where you can touch the anemones, starfish and urchins. The lady was shoved by another guest, and was shoved into my daughter. After that, we wanted to relax with some refreshments, but ended up dropping almost $40 on 4 drinks, a hot dog and some cookies. Absolutely ridiculous, especially for what we paid to get in. We tried to go see the 3D movie, but every time we tried, they were turning people away, and the theater was already full. We had a very hard time enjoying any of the exhibits due to the massive numbers of people allowed into the facility. They need to take a queue from other large aquariums, zoos, etc and manage the number of guests and the flow of the exhibits much better. It was truly miserable. When it was time to leave, all but one of the machines used to pay for your parking were out of order. It took over 2 HOURS from leaving the aquarium to the time we pulled out of the parking deck. This is an amazing facility that is run unbelievably poorly. Something needs to change here.) Then we headed back to !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! hoping to enjoy a little pool/hot tub time with the kids, only to find it overrun with 13 kids between 4 and 10 being overseen by ONE adult. I'm pretty sure most of them weren't even guests. They were squirting us with water guns, had rafts in the hot tub, tried to drown our kids, and were so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves talking.
Yeah, yeah, I didn't win $10k, was underwhelmed by the biggest aquarium in the world, while on vacation with my amazing family at a nice hotel, where my hot tub was over-crowded. The epitome of first world problems, yet still I bitch...
